Weisskirchen El. School

Project name: Weisskirchen El. School

Project type: Education

Location: Weisskirchen, Germany

Architect: Architekturbüro Rahlwes, Roland Dittmar

Ceiling and walls should be integrated into the architecture

“For the Weißkirchen Elementary School we had a clear ambition to integrate the ceiling and walls into the whole architecture. This made the project a bit different from other similar projects, where ceilings and walls are not given much consideration. But here we had the opportunity to create an overall image with a peaceful, harmonious look by covering both ceiling and walls with Knauf Danoline gypsum panels. The other advantage in the product’s favour is that the panels can be painted, without impairing their acoustic affect. The same is not true, for example, of mineral wool ceilings.” Roland Dittmar, Architekturbüro Rahlwes

We chose the supplier based on our previous experience

“When we work together with architects, we tend to choose a supplier on the basis of the architects’ wishes and specifications. When it came to Weißkirchen Elementary School, the choice of supplier was more or less cut and dried in terms of all the things the architect wished to achieve. In fact all suppliers other than Knauf Danoline were just about out of the question. Our experience of working with Knauf Danoline on previous projects has also been extremely positive. Not only are their panels easy to work with, but they also are on hand with excellent advice.” Anne Sax and Bernd Moder, Trockenbau Munich
