CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER: THE CEILINGS HAD TO BE ROBUST
“Our aim was to rely on our own experience with materials in the new buildings throughout all stages of construction. We therefore emphasised the need for robust materials. They had to stand up to being cleaned and taken down, knowing that functional, hygienic fittings and rooms that are light in colour and easy to clean are greatly appreciated by hospital staff.
It was also important for us to choose sound absorbing ceiling materials with the shortest possible degasification period. Knauf Danoline ceilings fulfilled our requirements so this was a satisfactory choice.” Kaj Jensen, Chief Technology Officer, Vendsyssel Hospital
WE WANTED TO CREATE A LIGHT-COLOURED, WELCOMING EXPRESSION
“The building and its interior had to emanate a discreet, light-coloured, welcoming expression. The ceilings had to contribute to the overall picture by also being light-coloured and welcoming. Over and above their characteristic appearance, Knauf Danoline ceilings are also practical. Their demountable panels make it much easier to gain access to the installations behind them.
For this project the hospital’s technical staff wanted to continue using the Knauf Danoline products that had already been installed in the wards. We felt that this was an appropriate choice, as it met the specification of requirements and was more economical than the alternative metal ceilings. We therefore saw no reason to interfere with the choice.” Kirsten Myrhøj, arkitektfirmaet NORD as
